JBA Aviation Names Jon Taylor As New President

Succeeds Jerry Smith, Who Has Led The Company Since 1997

Aircraft brokerage firm JB&A Aviation (JBA) has announced the appointment of Jon Taylor to President of JBA Aviation, Inc. Formerly the Vice President at JBA, Mr. Taylor will begin his new role as Jerry Smith becomes Chairman Emeritus after leading the company as President since 1997.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Jon Taylor joined JB&A Aviation, Inc. in 1983, after a career with CVT Machine Tool in Dallas where he served as Vice President of Sales. With more than 30 years of experience in aircraft sales and acquisitions, Mr. Taylor brings a strong technological and aviation background to his new leadership position. He is also an aircraft owner and Commercial/Instrument rated pilot with more than 4000 hours of flight time.

“I’m honored to be taking on the role of President for this dynamic company. I appreciate the opportunity to have worked closely with Jerry over the last 35 years, and will continue the vision we set forth at JB&A Aviation, Inc. as a leader in the industry,” said Mr. Taylor. “I look forward to leading JB&A Aviation, Inc. as we execute on our growth strategy and continue to deliver unparalleled services to our clients.”

JB&A was originally founded by Jim Bath and Jack Taylor as Jim Bath & Associates in 1976. In 1992 Jim Bath & Associates was incorporated and assumed the name JB&A Aviation, Inc. When Jack Taylor stepped down as President in the late 90’s, Jerry Smith took over the company’s leadership role. Now Jerry Smith will devote time to the JBA business as Chairman Emeritus and continue to assist with future aircraft sales. Toby Smith will continue serving as VP of Sales & Acquisitions but assume the additional duties of Voting board member & secretary of the Corporation.

“I am confident that Jon Taylor will leverage his diverse experience and industry knowledge to contribute to the continued growth of the company as its new President,” commented Jerry Smith, JBA Chairman Emeritus. “I wish him all the best!”
