Certified: SkyStep Upgrade For Multiple Citation Models

SkyStep Is Applicable To A Wide Variety Of Classic Citation Aircraft

The SkyWay Group Inc., has received EASA approval for their Cessna Citation cabin door step replacement, marketed under the name SkyStep.

EASA certifications numbered STC 10074500 / STC 10074602 / STC 10074623 cover the full range of Citation aircraft models previously certified by the FAA.

In the spring of 2019, the SkyStep received Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval #SA04176NY from the FAA. The SkyStep is now FAA and EASA certified for the following Cessna Citation aircraft models: Citation 500, 501SP, 550, 551SP, S550, 560 (V, Ultra, Encore), 525 (CJ, CJ1, CJ1+), 525A (CJ2, CJ2+), and 525B (CJ3, CJ3+).

Designed with significant improvements in functionality and appearance over the original factory step, the SkyStep improves safety and utility at a highly competitive price. Manufactured at Skyway’s PMA-approved manufacturing facility in Uvalde, TX, the SkyStep is applicable to a wide variety of classic Citation aircraft.

Improved features of the new step design include:

  • Precision machined from high-strength aircraft aluminum to eliminate cracking and breaking
  • Enclosed back & sides prevents slipping and improves passenger stability and security
  • 3 evenly spaced steps instead of 2 for enhanced ease of entry
  • First step is closer to the ground – no need to carry a separate “1st step” in the baggage compartment
  • Pneumatic cylinders gently deploy the door, preventing potential damage to door sill, toes and shins

SkyStep pricing is reportedly roughly half the cost of a comparable composite step replacement from Cessna.
