Pipistrel Makes Dynon Avionics OEM For 2013 Lineup

Full Line Will Feature D-Series Instruments As Standard Equipment

Pipistrel and Dynon are joining forces to provide pilots with easy-to-fly, fuel-efficient and high-performing aircraft that have advanced pilot-friendly avionics.

For the 2013 season, the Sinus, Virus and Virus SW lineup now feature Dynon Avionics D-series instruments as standard equipment. To complement the pilot experience, Pipistrel is offering the newly designed extra-large instrument panel on these airplanes as option. For the flagship Virus SW 100 equipped with the Rotax 912 iS engine, Pipistrel selected the class leading SkyView system as standard. All Sinus, Virus and Virus SW aircraft, including LSA and kitbuilds, can be further upgraded to top-of-the-line dual redundant 7" or 10" SkyView Displays, with autopilot, transponder and ADS-B options.

"We have had a firm and successful relationship with Dynon which dates back to year 2002 and have always been impressed with their products," said Ivo Boscarol, Pipistrel CEO. "As customers are becoming more and more demanding, we decided to include these most advanced avionics already in the basic price of our airplanes. This not only gives our customers a better, safer and enjoyable flight experience, but is the best promise for future flexibility and choice of upgrades even years down the road."

"Dynon is proud to be associated with such an innovative company," said Dynon Avionics president Robert Hamilton. "I have visited the impressive Pipistrel factory, and have seen first-hand how Pipistrel and Dynon are both committed to providing the best-designed and highest-quality products."

Pipistrel, founded in 1987, is an award winning aircraft producer and 2012 Collier-prize nominee with a wide range of products, from single and two-seat self-launching gliders, light-sport trainers, motorgliders, high-performance two-seat cruisers to the four-seat Part-23 certified Panthera. Pipistrel was first to fly both a 2-seat and 4-seat electric aircraft, and was the winner of all three NASA Challenges for energy efficient airplanes.

Founded in 2000, Dynon Avionics manufactures avionics for Experimental and Light Sport Aircraft. Continuing a tradition started with the introduction of their first Electronic Flight Information System "glass panel." Dynon is committed to developing innovative and high-quality avionics integrating the newest technology at affordable prices for all pilots.
