TBM 900 On Display At The Cannes AirShow 2014

First Outing For The Airplane At A French Trade Show

Daher-Socata showcased a TBM 900 at the Cannes AirShow on the French Riviera, the first time the airplane was on display at a trade show in France.

The TBM 900 has attracted significant attention among pilots, owners and operators after its reveal March 12th in Tarbes. With more than 47 orders, 15 TBM 900 have already been delivered to their customers as of May 31st.

“Cannes Airshow brings together hundreds of aviation enthusiasts from all over Europe, especially from France, Italy and Switzerland. We are glad to present the TBM 900 to the market and get the public to discover many improvements in performance, eco-efficiency and comfort,” Explained Nicolas Chabbert, the Senior Vice President of Daher-Socata’s Airplane Business Unit. “The low noise level places the TBM 900 in the ‘quiet’ category, which is definitely key to access some sensitive airports, such as Cannes.” he added.

The TBM 900 features aerodynamic optimization through the addition of winglets and a vertical tailfin strake, as well as a new tail cone; Hartzell’s new five-blade composite propeller; and a complete nose-to-firewall redesign for improved engine airflow circulation – featuring a banana-shaped air intake, carbon-fiber cowlings and new exhaust stacks, among other changes from previous models.
