LAX Offers Free Shuttle Service To Flight Path Aviation Historical Museum

Got Some Time To Kill Between Flights?

Travelers who have time in-between flights can now take advantage of free shuttle service offered at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) from Terminal 2 to the Flight Path Aviation Historical Museum on Imperial Highway.

The shuttle to the Flight Path Museum departs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. and 12 noon from the blue LAX shuttle bus stop in front of Terminal 2 on the Lower/Arrivals Level, across from the Bob Hope Hollywood USO. The museum is located in the LAX Imperial Terminal on the airport's south perimeter at 6661 West Imperial Highway. The return trips from the museum depart at 12:20 p.m. and 1:15 p.m, arriving at Terminal 2 in approximately 10 minutes.

"This is a great opportunity for travelers to see Flight Path's impressive collection of memorabilia, saluting the history of LAX, airlines, aviation companies and aircraft," said Flight Path President Rowena Ake. "This is the only aviation museum in Southern California situated on a major airport."

The museum is operated by the Flight Path Learning Center of Southern California, a nonprofit community-based organization, in cooperation with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the City of Los Angeles department that owns and operates LAX and three other Southern California airports. Flight Path honors aviation pioneers, recognizes the economic importance of aviation and aerospace to Southern California, and encourages youth to pursue education and careers in aviation-related fields.

The shuttle service will operate for a 90-day trial period to gauge public response. Terminal 2 was selected as the location to pick up and drop off travelers because of its proximity to the Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX, where military personnel often wait several hours between connecting flights. Passengers from other terminals can reach Terminal 2 by catching the LAX Airline Connection Shuttle "A", which operates continuously and stops at all terminals.

Flight Path is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and the first Saturday of each month. Admission and parking are free.
