Appareo Now Shipping New Stratus Power Max

Twin 30-Watt Ports Offer USB-C Performance in Small Form Factor

A new charging option for aircraft owners has entered the scene courtesy of Appareo, offering dual USB-C ports for up to 60 watts of charging power.

That's good news for those who like to work on the road, since 30 watts at each port is perfect for fast charging phones, tablets, and even some very energy-efficient laptops. It's not quite enough to reliably charge higher performance laptops, but it may be close enough to give pax a few hours of extra use on the road. Some users with lightweight ultrabooks can make do with 30 watts, however, which can make all the difference on a long cross country... but there's always a chance Junior's RGB-backlit gaming laptop is okay with a trickle charge in place of its usual 120-watt factory adapter, too.

The new Stratus Power Max is FAA TSO-C71 Certified, with extra safety mechanisms built in on the back end. That's good news for operators who can't always vet their passenger's devices - and sloppy quality control abroad has made more than a few devices that could melt a cable or burn out a port. The Stratus Power Max boasts protection from overcurrent, overvoltage, and short-circuits, ensuring that the side effects of cheap, trashy cables and devices are limited to the items themselves. The whole thing is shipped with a 6-foot wiring harness, allowing for optimum placement wherever the USB ports are wanted.

"Stratus Power Max is a game-changer in in-flight charging solutions," said Kris Garberg, President of Appareo Aviation. "We've listened to our customers' needs for more powerful and versatile charging options, and we've delivered a product that meets those demands with superior performance and ease of installation."

"With the increasing reliance on electronic devices in the cockpit and cabin, having a reliable power source is more important than ever," said Garberg. "Stratus Power Max not only meets but exceeds these needs, providing a dependable charging solution that enhances the in-flight experience."
