NBAA Defends BizAv Against Critics

Prelude To BACE In October Showcasing Industry’s Vital Role

The National Business Aviation Association reminds the industry that its annual Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition is coming up on October 14-16 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is beyond just a meeting – it is a forceful and impressive reminder of the vital role business aviation plays in the country’s economy and transportation system.

NBAA-BACE is a dynamic event that features aircraft of all kinds, hundreds of different aviation and aviation-related companies displaying their countless numbers of products and services, and thousands of talented professionals at all levels of their careers in attendance.

Ed Bolen, President and CEO of NBAA, emphasizes the industry’s importance at every turn, and he recently pointed out that a PricewaterhouseCoopers study earlier this year commissioned by the NBAA and other aviation groups, concluded that business aviation supports 1.3 million jobs and $340 billion in economic activity in the U.S. alone each year.

However as most readers know, business and general aviation are often – too often – mischaracterized as excessive or taking advantage of the nation’s aviation system without paying its fair share of the cost.

In response to a recent New York Times piece that made such a claim, Bolen and NBAA set the record straight on that point in a video called CLIMBING. FAST. In the video, he explains in detail the facts surrounding business aviation’s contribution to the cost of the system, including how aviation helps fund the system through fuel taxes.

The film also explains the role of business aviation in connecting businesses and helping them thrive, supporting jobs and job creation, and local investment. Business and general aviation serve as crucial resources for medical and emergency services and during natural disasters.
