Port Richey, FL Man Arrested For Laser Incident

Targeted Sheriff's Helicopter Landed And Apprehended Him

A shirtless man in Port Richey, FL was arrested last week for pointing a laser beam at a helicopter by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office personnel flying the targeted aircraft.

Television station WFLA reports that the incident occurred about 2250 local time last Tuesday. The aircraft was dispatched in relation to a call about a barricaded suspect in a home in Pasco County. While the helicopter was over the house, it was targeted by a laser pointer, blinding the pilot.

The aircraft broke off from the cover mission and landed in a nearby parking lot. After landing, the pilot walked to the suspect's residence and detained him.

The suspect is 27-year-old Ryan Fluke (pictured), who was arrested for misuse of a laser lighting device. He is a bartender at Gill Dawg Marina in Port Richey.
