NextGen GA Fund Extends Assistance To Personal-Use Airplanes

Also Announces ADS-B In Program For Aspen/Lynx Bundle

By Tom Patton

The NextGen GA Fund announced several new programs that will continue to assist pilots and aircraft owners get ready for ADS-B compliance on January 1, 2020.

Jim Hughey (pictured), managing partner for the NextGen GA Fund, said that the established programs will continue, and at AirVenture, the fund was announcing new developments that are continuations of those legacy programs

Hughey said that one of the things that was being introduced at AirVenture is an expansion of the ADS-B Out program to include personal use airplanes. "This is a new development, we've had a lot of demand and questions about personal use and personally-owned aircraft. And up until now, we've had to ask those inquiries to wait just a little bit. But we're happy to announce that now we have a financing solution for those pilots."

Hughey also announced the Jump Start 'In' program, which will help facilitate the installation of ADS-B In technology in airplanes. "It has to do with ADS-B In that is in a bundled form," Hughey said, "which is Aspen Avionics displays coupled with L-3 Lynx NGT products, antenna, and installation costs all wrapped together in low monthly payments."

Hughey said the Jump Start 'In' program will be available in August.
