Columbia Announces Memorial Fund For Families Of Peruvian Accident

Some Donations To The Fund Can Be Made Online

Columbia Helicopters announces the establishment of a memorial fund that will assist the families of the seven employees who perished in a recent helicopter crash in Peru. The funds raised will be distributed equally among all families.

The “CHI 241 Peru Memorial Fund” has been created at Wells Fargo banks, which can accept donations at any of their branches throughout the United States. Additionally, Wells Fargo account holders can make donations through the bank’s website.

“In establishing this fund, we are grateful for the substantial amount of interest in helping the families of those we lost,” said Mike Fahey, President of Columbia Helicopters. “We have received inquiries from our employees and from outside the company, offering their assistance to the families. We deeply appreciate this interest, and we offer our gratitude on behalf of the families as well.

The accident remains under investigation by a team consisting of Peruvian aviation officials, the NTSB, and representatives from the helicopter company. The aircraft with seven people on board went down shortly after takeoff. It was flying in support of an oil drilling operation. Columbia grounded its fleet of Chinook helicopters after the accident occurred.
