Rolls-Royce Selected By ANA To Provide Trent Engines

Contract With The Japanese Carrier Worth $1.1 Billion

Rolls-Royce has been selected by All Nippon Airways (ANA) to provide Trent 1000 engines, worth $1.1 billion, to power 25 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The engine, which offers the best lifetime fuel burn performance on the 787 Dreamliner, powered the very first 787 Dreamliner into service with ANA in 2011. Trent 1000s have now completed over 220,000 in-service flying hours with an engine dispatch reliability of better than 99.9% - the best ever reliability figures for a widebody engine on entering airline service.

Mr. Hiroyuki Ito, Senior Executive Vice President, ANA, said: "We are pleased to once again select the Trent 1000 to power this extension of our 787 Dreamliner fleet. It has served us very well through our entry into service and we have received excellent customer support throughout from Rolls-Royce."

Dominic Horwood, Chief Customer Officer, Rolls-Royce, Civil Large Engines, said: "We are proud that ANA, the launch customer for the 787 Dreamliner, has continued to demonstrate its confidence in the performance and economics of the Trent 1000."
