TrueNorth Begins Shipping Simphone Prelude

Upgradeable Two-Channel Satcom For Light Jets, Turboprops

TrueNorth Avionics announced this month production shipments of the industry's first fully upgradeable compact Satcom for light jets and turboprops, the revolutionary two-channel Simphone Prelude airborne telephone system.

Based on TrueNorth's executive-class Simphone equipment for large jets, the Simphone Prelude features TrueNorth's ClearCall technology for unmatched voice quality, easy-to-use menu-driven handsets and all-digital open architecture.

A single-LRU system whose two channels can simultaneously support voice and, for example, BlackBerry data, Simphone Prelude can also be upgraded, allowing operators to add such capabilities as broadband and Wi-Fi. Priced comparably to current single-channel systems, the Simphone Prelude enables light turbine dealers and operators to finally realize the benefits of an expandable airborne phone.

"Simphone Prelude brings a unique package of performance, quality, expandability and value to the light turbine market," says Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth CEO. "Providing immediate voice and fax capabilities as well as a defined upgrade path, Simphone Prelude also helps preserves the operator's investment."

The Prelude is priced at just $24,900 for a standard package, which includes a communications LRU and two handsets.
