600 Business Jets to Receive the Connectivity Service By the End of 2026

NetJets is joining the ever-growing number of operators turning to low-Earth-orbit internet, announcing that it will equip 600 aircraft with Starlink connectivity under a new agreement with SpaceX. Installations start almost immediately and are expected to run through the end of 2026, marking one of the largest business-aviation rollouts of the service to date.

“This agreement with Starlink positions NetJets to continue delivering exceptional travel experiences for our Owners and their guests,” said NetJets President Patrick Gallagher. “With Starlink, travel is elevated with reliable connectivity whether our Owners are flying for business or leisure—as seamless connectivity is critical to the experience our Owners need and deserve.”

The upgrade applies to a wide mix of aircraft, with Cessna Citation Latitudes and Longitudes, Embraer Praetor 500s, Bombardier Challenger 350s and 650s, and the entire US-based Bombardier Global lineup on the list. European Globals and Challenger 650s will follow the same path. Installations will run in parallel across both regions to avoid a long lag.

The deal follows years of work to expand Starlink’s aircraft type certifications, and NetJets is just one operator that has taken advantage of it. Emirates intends to equip its entire 232-aircraft widebody fleet, Korean Air and its partner airlines are preparing installations for long-haul Boeing and Airbus jets, and carriers such as Alaska and Hawaiian have already started introducing the system. By late 2025, more than 20 airlines had signed agreements with SpaceX.

At the same time, competition from old timers is still very much alive. Viasat and Inmarsat remain the two largest legacy satellite providers on major international carriers, dominating long-haul connectivity for over a decade. In business aviation, many operators continue to rely on Gogo’s air-to-ground and hybrid systems, which offer much lower installation costs and decently reliable coverage on domestic routes. But now, it seems the landscape is shifting in Starlink’s favor.
