CAF Capital Wing Announces 2024 Tour Schedule

CAF Capital Wing 2024 Tour Schedule

The Capital Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) has unveiled its 2024 Tour Schedule, featuring a series of airshows and Warbird Showcase events. With most appearances scheduled for weekends, the majority of events offer free parking and admission.

Enthusiasts have the opportunity to experience rides in various warbirds, with prices ranging from $125 to $1,750. Among the highlights is a Stinson OY-1, a veteran of the Battle of Saipan, which will be available for rides alongside other iconic aircraft such as the Fairchild UC-61 Forwarder and Boeing PT-17 Stearman.

The tour kicks off with a Spring Fling in Culpeper, VA, on April 20-21, followed by a Warbird Showcase in Staunton, VA, on April 27-28. Additional highlights include the CAF Airpower Tour in Hagerstown, MD, on June 4-5, featuring rides in the B-29, B-24, C-45, T-6, and Stearman.

The Capital Wing will also participate in notable events such as the WWII Weekend in Reading, PA, from June 7-9, and the Westmoreland County Airshow in Latrobe, PA, on August 17-18, featuring the USAF F-35A Lightning.

Rides in various warbird aircraft, including the Fairchild Forwarder, PT-17 Stearman, TBM Avenger, T-6, AA-1B, and L-3, will be available throughout the tour. The public can book rides in advance on the Capital Wing's website, and flights not sold in advance will be available for sale on-site during events.

In addition to warbird rides, attendees can enjoy static displays of rare aircraft, such as the Japanese Fuji LM-1 and the Navion L-17, as well as the Capital Wing PX and the Law Dawgs food truck.
