Total Now 18 As Nos. 17, 18 Lift Off From Two Hemispheres
Rocket Lab Corporation completed two launches in two days from its launch sites in two hemispheres, in the process setting a new annual launch record with mission numbers 17 and 18 recording a 100% success rate.
Rocket Lab’s 17th mission was its third HASTE launch this year and sixth overall for its suborbital Electron variant for hypersonic technology test flights. The mission was launched on November 18 from the company’s Launch Complex 2 on Wallops Island, Virginia.
The company’s record setting 18th mission was dubbed “Follow My Speed” and lifted off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand on November 20. It successfully deployed its payload for a confidential commercial customer.
