UAL Corp., parent company for United Airlines, reported a record $1.77 billion loss Monday for the third quarter of FY2005. Federal auditors are questioning several billing documents filed by Unisys, the prime contractor on a $1 billion tech contract with the Transportation Safety Administration. Auditors claim, among other issues, the agency (and by extension, taxpayers) was overbilled by as much as 171,000 hours worth of labor and OT. The auditors also claim Unisys charged the TSA as much as $131 per hour for employees who were then paid less than half that amount.

Angel City Flyers -- an Oxsfordshire, England-based training school flying out of Long Beach Airport in the States -- has become the first delivery customer for ELITE Simulation Solutions' new Garmin G1000-equipped iGATE Advanced Aviation Training Device, or A-ATD. The sim is outfitted with an actual G1000 flat-glass panel, utilizing the 10.4" PFD/MFD displays that are rapidly becoming OEM equipment in many airframes. Desktop and cockpit versions of the iGATE A-ATDs are available, in almost any configuration -- including the Diamond DA40 and DA42 twin, developed in cooperation with Diamond Aircraft Industries.

Raytheon Company has delivered the first full production Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) for the Northrop Grumman RQ-4A Global Hawk unmanned aerial system used by the U.S. Air Force.&nbsp; The full production configuration includes both synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) high resolution imaging capability in a single integrated sensor system.

Seattle Avionics Software has announced immediate commercial availability of its new Voyager Flight Software System EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) bundle.

"Overall, it is clearly apparent that airports within the ADIZ have been negatively impacted (both operationally and economically) by the events of 9/11 and that their recovery had lagged the recovery experienced at airports outside of the ADIZ."
