Lightspeed Aviation Launches Zulu 3 Headset

Claims Improvements In Comfort And Durability Over Previous Models

Lightspeed Aviation has announced the launch of the Zulu 3 ANR headset. The company says the Zulu 3 builds on the performance and features that made the original Zulu and Zulu 2 popular choices for private and professional pilots worldwide.

Lightspeed said in a media release that the Zulu 3 "retains the familiar sleek, high-tech look of its predecessors along with the features that have made the previous Zulu models strong competitors in the premium space, including Bluetooth phone and music, the durability and longevity of nearly 100% stainless steel and magnesium construction, user-adjustable mic gain, and ear seals that, according to Lightspeed, deliver more comfort than their nearest competitor by offering 50% more space inside the cup and 20% more surface area."

"We've taken an iconic product that is trusted by a large cross section of pilots around the world and made it even better," said Teresa De Mers, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Lightspeed Aviation. "Zulu 3 is the most comfortable, most durable headset Lightspeed has ever made."

Lightspeed says a number of enhancements have been added to the new model that result in increased comfort and durability.

  • New contoured ear seals are designed to hug the curve of the jaw, for a more natural fit that increases comfort and stability
  • New cables built around a Kevlar core are stronger and more flexible than standard cables, while weighing less. These are the same cables that are standard on Lightspeed's PFX and Tango.
  • Zulu 3 will be backed by 7-year warranty, two years more protection than offered on other premium headsets.
  • An optional free taller head pad ensures maximum comfort and performance on smaller head shapes.

Zulu 3 is available with Dual GA, LEMO (panel powered), and U-174 (Heli) connectors and sells for $850.
