Classic Aero-TV: 'Never Give Up' - Advice From Two of FedEx's Female Captains

From 2015 (YouTube Version): Overcoming Obstacles To Achieve Their Dreams…

At EAA AirVenture 2015, FedEx arrived with one of their Airbus freight hauling aircraft and placed it on display for AirVenture attendees to explore. While having the airplane on display added to the AirVenture adventure, there is more to the story.

The crew piloting airplane was all-female. In the video you’ll meet two determined women who found a way to progress in aviation through fortitude and persistence. The interview starts in the left seat with Dolores Pavlectic, who is an A300/A310 Fleet Captain and, a Senior Manager of flight operations at FedEx Express.

Pavlectic came from a family of general aviation pilots and that’s how she got her start. She explains that she started flying not knowing exactly where she was going, and then added, “After 36 years, look where I am now.”

As we turned to the right seat, we met Muriel Zarlingo, who is also a FedEx Express A300 Captain. She tells an interesting story about becoming a military pilot, and she also tells us that keeping her sights set, holding onto her dream, and never giving up led her to where she is today.

The interesting thing about this video is that it’s the story of two successful women in aviation, but their method of being successful applies to anyone. Whether the viewer is a woman or a man, these two women offer valuable advice for creating an aviation career.
