Asia’s Largest Business Aviation Conference Opens Stronger Than Ever

Event Continues Through Friday At Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport

The 2019 Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE 2019) opened with a high level of energy and enthusiasm today at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.

Jiang Chunshui, Party Secretary of the East China Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China; Cai Jun, Inspector of Shanghai Traffic Commission; Qin Yun, Chairman of Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA), Ed Bolen, president and CEO of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), Sean Stein, consul general of the United States in Shanghai, and Weldon Epp, consul general of Canada in Shanghai, gave remarks at the show’s opening keynote session hosted by Xin Feng, President of SAA.

The opening session also featured, for the first time ever, a panel discussion of key aviation experts, including: Guangshan Lu, chief engineer, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd; Kevin Wu, international vice president, Greater China and Mongolia sales, Textron Aviation Inc., and; Todd Simmons, president, customer experience, Cirrus Aircraft. The panel was moderated by Jenny Lau, chair, Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA).

“In establishing Shanghai as an aviation hub, Shanghai Airport Authority sees business aviation as an effective complement to air transportation, which offers diverse aviation services to the public, improves the service capacity of Shanghai’s airports, and supports Shanghai to become an exceptional global city with the best aviation services,” said Qin Yun, Chairman of SAA.

"This year’s ABACE features a number of exciting new attributes, highlights the evolving nature of exhibiting companies in the region and from around the world, and underscores the growing importance of China and Asia in the global aviation ecosystem,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen.

ABACE – produced in partnership with SAA, and co-hosted by NBAA and AsBAA – is one of the world’s preeminent events. It is a top forum for introducing and displaying the latest aircraft models, products and services.
