Some States' Driver's Licences Will Not Be Accepted By TSA In 2018

Will Invalidate IDs From Nine States For Boarding Airliners

Beginning a year from now, people with driver's licenses or ID cards from nine states will no longer be able to use them to board an airliner, according to TSA.

Those states are  Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Washington, according to the website Alternet.org.

TSA says that the states official documents do not meet the requirements of the REAL ID law passed by Congress in 2005. That law creates a minimum criteria for state-issued identification, and those nine states don't pass muster, according to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security.

TSA has begun posting notices is some airports warning about the change, which goes into effect January 22, 2018.
