CCX T-RX and T-RX GPS Avionics Testers Impress

Innovative Solutions for a Complex World

Avionics testing is a routine task undertaken with diligence by aircraft maintainers for purpose of ensuring safety and airworthiness. Such tests call for high degrees of precision and know-how, and require maintainers and the equipment by which they practice their erudite craft to keep pace with the constantly evolving technologies by which the aviation and aerospace sectors are characterized.

With one-hundred or more tests possibly required to vet a modern avionics device, performing diagnostic work is most often a long, repetitive, pedantic-but-intricate task.

Up to 2019, in the bleak days before CCX Technologies launched its T-RX Avionics Tester, the business of testing aircraft radios had, for decades, remained virtually unchanged. Technicians got about their work using legacy products designed in the 1970s, primarily by Cobham (now Viavi) and TIC. Such contraptions were generally functional, but large, heavy, less-than-intuitive, difficult to use, and challenging to upgrade.

The testing market changed dramatically and for the better when CCX introduced its line of avionics testing products. The company aimed to modernize and simplify the maintainer's job by revolutionizing the means by which testers were purchased, employed, and upgraded—in such ways as:

  • Simplified procurement: Online purchasing through a growing dealer network.
  • Simplified upgrades: Required tests are pre-calibrated for future upgrades, field upgradable, and selectable online.
  • Easier to use: Small, lightweight tablet format testers with large screen and intuitive interfaces by which users may perform more than one-hundred diagnostic tests utilizing a single T-RX unit.
  • Automated reports: Which may be included with clients’ work orders.
  • Streamlined maintenance: Via a growing number of international locations capable of performing calibration and repairs with a three-days turnaround.

Competitors trafficking in outdated avionics testing and diagnostic products have attempted—albeit unsuccessfully—to emulate CXX. None, however, have matched the value and features CXX packs into its T-RX unit.

Notwithstanding the T-RX's success and popularity, CCX has strived in perpetuity to innovate and improve its product line. The company’s newest offering, the T-RX GPS, is a small, lightweight tester that validates aircraft GPS functionality and is provided pre-calibrated for future upgrades.
