Aspen Avionics has announced new features and functions for the E5 EFI.

When introduced in 2018, the Evolution E5 EFI combined an attitude indicator plus DG/CDI into a single display. Aspen has since responded with a new software release for those who prefer a more traditional HSI. Aircraft owners who already own Aspen’s Evolution E5 can update their current display through an Aspen authorized dealer who will enter the change with a logbook entry. New E5 displays will begin shipping immediately with the HSI feature. General Aviation pilots who want to fly around Miami or Fort Lauderdale between Jan. 27 and Feb. 4, 2020, will need to check out the FAA’s NOTAM for air traffic procedures for the area. Super Bowl LIV (54) is Sunday, Feb. 2, at Hard Rock Stadium. Game time will be at approximately 6 p.m. EST. The FAA has published a web page with information for South Florida-area airspace and airports. Flight school operators, chief flight instructors, and persons considering opening a flight school should take special note of the upcoming International Flight
School Operators Conference. The Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) annual event 2020 edition is being held at the Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Registrants will have over 20 multi-track sessions to choose from during mornings and afternoons of February 20 and 21. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
