NATA Announces New Board Members

Grossman, Staub, Pigman

NATA has elected three new members to its board of directors, bringing some fresh viewpoints to the organization's governing body. The appointments were made  last month during NATA's annual convention in Las Vegas, NV.

The new board members are:

Michael H. Grossmann, President, Castle Aviation Inc., North Canton, OH

Since 1978, Grossmann has logged over 13,000 hours, has been a charter pilot, corporate pilot, and commuter airline pilot, and is now a missionary pilot flying a Boeing 747SP. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot license and is also the FAA-designated Check Airman for Castle Aviation. He has worked tirelessly growing Castle and promoting general aviation.

He has served on NATA’s Air Charter Committee since 1997, served as Chairman of the Air Cargo Subcommittee for NATA during 2003 and 2004, and helped NATA with the Aviation Rule Making Committee (ARC) and the Aviation Security for Air Cargo (ASAC).

Grossmann is also a board member with the East Central Ohio Pilots Association (ECOPA). He is listed in Who's Who in Air Charter, and is a member of the Business Incentive Group (BIG).

Theo Staub, President & COO, Jet Aviation Holdings, Inc., Teterboro, NJ

Staub was appointed Vice President/General Manager of Jet Aviation Business Jets AG in Zurich in September 1992. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and a Master of Business Administration Degree. Prior to joining Jet Aviation, he was a member of the management team of Vibro-Meter's Aviation Division where he gained experience in managing programs and operational activities.

In 1999, Staub was promoted to Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Jet Aviation's European Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. In that role, he helped to create new business opportunities for Jet Aviation and to implement strategic planning on a group-wide level. Staub is currently President & COO for Jet Aviation North America and is based out of the U.S. headquarters in Teterboro, New Jersey.

Reed W. Pigman, Jr., President, Texas Jet, Inc., Fort Worth, TX

Since 1978, Pigman has been President and Owner of Texas Jet, Inc. (an Executive Aviation Terminal on Fort Worth Meacham International Airport). Texas Jet was voted one of the best operations of its kind in the U.S. for each of the last six years. Pigman holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with a LearJet Type Rating. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He was named by Fort Worth Magazine as one of the "Top 100 Movers and Shakers" in Fort Worth's 150-year history.

"We are extremely fortunate that our members have chosen three new board members with such exceptional and diverse experience in the aviation industry," said NATA president James K. Coyne. "I look forward to working with them on the array of issues confronting our members at this critical period of time within the aviation industry."
