While no actual physical or visual evidence has been confirmed at this point, a drone is being blamed for the damage to a news helicopter in Southern California.

The crew of the KABC Air7 HD news gathering helicopter made an emergency landing Thursday after ‘something’ struck the helicopter's tail. Despite the current lack of substantiation, nonetheless, the crew believes their aircraft was hit by a drone. The new helo was flying at an altitude of about 1,100 feet when the crew heard a "pop," then a loud bang. Reporter Chris Cristi told KABC that at the time, they did not know what had hit them. Having become something of a juggernaut in the light aircraft powerplant arena, especially withe recent introduction of the 141HP Rotax 915iS, Rotax is reaching out to its customer base again, in order to bring them together near their Headquarters. After the great success of this year’s event in September, BRP-Rotax is already planning the next Fly-In at the Aerodrome in Wels, Austria for the summer 2020. For well over 50 years, the International Council of AirShows has been the leading voice for one of the most important communities in all of aviation... the airshow industry. Through airshows, the regular groundhog world gets to see aviation at its best... and know that aviation is filled with outstanding professionals who do their utmost to hone their craft to an amazing degree. This week, the 2019 ICAS Convention will be held December 9-12 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
