The missionary, Elder Cameron Johnson of Aloha, OR, had just finished lunch when saw the accident happen and went to assist the people in the airplane. The aircraft, which according to FAA records is a Beech Baron, reportedly went down on approach and came to rest in an RV storage at 1942 PST Monday. According to the Redlands Daily Facts, Johnson, just 19 years old and three months into his missionary work, climbed a nine-foot fence and went to the aid of those in the B55 Baron with two others.

The two people on board the airplane, 39-year-old pilot Wayne Rollins and his business associate, 61-year-old Greg Fitzgerald, were critically injured in the accident. But a firefighter said it could have been much worse had the plane, which was leaking fuel, caught fire. He called Elder Johnson a "hero" for his actions.
