Terminal Evacuated At Heathrow Airport

Eighth Arrested Suspect In Glasgow Attack Identified

About 55 flights were cancelled, and thousands of passengers were evacuated from London's Heathrow Airport Terminal 4 Tuesday, after a suspicious package was located.

Terminal 4 is used by such carriers as British Airways, KLM, Qantas Airways and Sri Lankan Air.

The evacuations were begun after a suspect bag was found around noon. Britain's security threat level has been at "critical" since two car bombs were found in central London on Friday and Glasgow Airport was attacked Saturday by a burning Jeep Cherokee, as ANN reported.

An all-clear was issued and the terminal was re-opened about 5 pm, according to Reuters.

There were three more arrests made Monday in connection with the Glasgow Airport attack, two medical doctors identified as Mohammed Asha, from Jordan, and Bilal Abdullah from Iraq, and a third unidentified person detained in Australia, as reported by ANN.

That third person was arrested while boarding a plane in Brisbane, Australia, with a one-way ticket to India, and has been identified by Australian media as Dr. Mohammed Haneef, a 27-year-old Indian national, according to the BBC.

Australian Attorney General Philip Ruddock said a colleague of Haneef's at the Gold Coast Hospital in Southport, in eastern Queensland was also being questioned by investigators.
