AFASF Seeks Hosts For Virtual National Safety Stand Down

Hybrid Event Promises To Be One Of The Largest GA Safety Events Ever

The Advocates for Aviation Safety Foundation (AFASF) is seeking organizations and individuals to serve as local hosts for the Virtual National Aviation Safety Stand Down to be held nationwide on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

AFASF Executive Director, Gene Benson explained that a hybrid event combines the best features of a webinar and a local safety seminar. “A webinar can offer top presenters and panelists from diverse locations, but lacks the comradery and the local discussion available at a traditional seminar. The hybrid event still allows pilots who cannot attend a local event to have the benefit of the program by attending online, but also allows local pilots to gather with fellow aviators for an enhanced experience,” Benson said.

The March 21, event will entitle qualified attendees to receive all three FAA Wings Knowledge Credits at the Basic Level. Scheduled Presenters and Panelists include John and Martha King, Capt. David Koch, Quay Snyder, MD, MSPH, David St. George, MCFI, DPE, and Gene Benson.

AFASF is seeking FBOs, flying clubs, flight schools, and any other organizations with an interest in promoting aviation safety to serve as local hosts for the March 21 live event. Additional information, including technical support is available to potential hosts.
