Air Medical Forum Addresses Industry Challenges

AAMS Roundtable Brings Together Leaders For Open Discussions

The Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) announced that it organized and led a forum for air medical companies to engage in candid discussions to foster collaboration, address challenges, and share best practices to strengthen the industry.

Led by Jana Williams, President and CEO of AAMS, the forum brought together leaders of small, medium, and large programs to have organic discussions about the industry’s most pressing issues. Topics included reimbursement and revenue cycle challenges, staffing pressures, technological advancements, safety concerns, legal and liability issues, and the importance of employee engagement, and maintaining a sense of positive culture and mental health.

Williams said, "We started this conversation about a year ago with the goal of driving greater value for executive leaders in the air medical industry. We wanted to create a forum where leaders could share their experiences and ideas in a safe environment, and continue that dialogue even after the event. The turnout and active participation today show how important these discussions are to our industry."

A poll of the leaders clearly showed that the number one concern for all was the safety of flight crews and patients. Joe Kellner, CEO of LifeFlight of Maine said, “It’s the safety of the crews and the safety of our patients that I think about all the time.”

The forum was very productive and concluded with a call to action for continued collaboration and innovation.

JaeLynn Williams, CEO of Air Methods noted, "There is a lot of collective wisdom in this room, and by working together, we can make a positive impact on the industry.”
