Diamond Aircraft DA40-180 Diamond Star To Offer Avidyne Entegra

The World's Most Advanced GA Cockpit Comes to Diamond Aircraft

Diamond Aircraft is displaying the first customer DA40 equipped with Avidyne's FlightMax Entegra "glass cockpit" system at their exhibit next to Hangar C at AirVenture. The Entegra system offers an IFR certified Primary Flight Display (PFD) and the EX5000 Multi Function Display (MFD). Diamond is the only manufacturer to offer as standard, the fully integrated "E-max" engine and fuel management instrumentation.

The Avidyne equipped IFR Diamond Star has a list price of $228,800 which includes the FlightMax Entegra 10.4" Color LCD PFD, EX5000 MFD, E-max Total Engine Management System, one-year FlexService plan for the FlightMax Entegra and a one-year Jeppesen database subscription. A full compliment of options is available and first delivery will be before end August 2003.

The Diamond DA40-180 Diamond Star offers a combination of performance, features and safety record unmatched in this class of aircraft. Diamond's commitment to safety, including application of the Diamond Total Safety Concept which combines proven active and passive safety elements, has resulted in a perfect safety record for the over 200 DA40-180's delivered to date.  The installation of the Entegra, further enhances operational convenience and safety, by improving situational awareness and adding redundancy to the primary flight instruments.

Avidyne and Diamond have worked closely together throughout the development of this installation. Diamond's modular design concept allows maximum flexibility with regard to available configurations. The FAA STC'd installation will be part of the regular production line build at Diamond's factory.

"Our customers tell us they want choice when it comes to equipment configuration", said John Gauch, Vice President, Sales & Marketing. "We are particularly pleased that we are able to offer an expanding range of instrumentation and avionics equipment choices, to fit each individual pilots needs".
