PlaneSense Opens World’s First Pilatus PC-12 Level D Sim

Investment Enhances Pilot Training Program

Fractional aircraft ownership operator PlaneSense announced the inauguration of the world’s first Pilatus PC-2 NGX Level D Full Flight Simulator that will be used to significantly enhance its pilot training program. PlaneSense has prioritized excellence in pilot training since its inception 30 years ago and all its training syllabi are developed and taught in-house by instructors with thousands of hours of experience.

The company currently operates 46 Pilatus PC-12s, half of which are the NGX model and has not until now been supported by a full-motion sim. PlaneSense gathered aero-data and partnered with Aeronautical Systems Engineering (ASE) to develop just such a simulator to support the training of pilots for the NGX fleet.

This simulator allows us to fully control the entire pilot training process and further enhance our curriculum to continue to meet the high standards of excellence expected by our program. The simulator received FAA Certification on February 7, 2025, and will be co-located at ASE’s Tampa, Florida, facility where PlaneSense will conduct classroom and flight training. The ground school portion will continue at the PlaneSense facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Antoniadis added, “ASE’s attention to every intricate detail of the aircraft’s operation was impressive. We are grateful for their expertise in the development of this exceptional technology.”
