The Leadership Conference on Aviation and Space Education (LCASE) will be held Sept. 14 and 15, 2007 in Arlington, Virginia.

In 2005 more than 200 aerospace education leaders convened in Washington to attend the first Leadership Conference on Aviation and Space Education (LCASE) hosted by the National Coalition for Aviation Education (NCAE).

This year's LCASE theme is be "Priming the Pump - Strengthening Tomorrow's Aerospace Workforce."

"We are in a pivotal period of workforce development, educational policy challenges and fewer students with math and science interests. There are opportunities and innovative programs to meet these challenges. Join us to address the future of aviation and space education." - Kenneth J. Cook, President NCAE

The 2007 conference will begin with an evening reception on Friday September 14 at 6:00 PM featuring guest speaker Alex Min, the CFO/VP Sales and Marketing for Terrafugia, Inc. The conference sessions begin at 8:00 AM Saturday September 15, with opening remarks provided by Paula Lewis, Deputy Assistant Administrator for Regions and Center Operations at the Federal Aviation Administration.

LCASE brings together many leaders of successful aviation and space education programs as well as prominent federal, state, and local education policy makers. The presenters include Dr. Guy Smith of the University Aviation Association, Dr. Kendall Starkweather of ITEA, Dr. Carlos Manduley from the FAA, Karen Elzey of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and many more. They will discuss such topics as workforce development, implementation of education programs, case studies of successful programs, and concepts for the future. Attendees will also participate in two roundtable discussions on these and other topics.

Al Byers, Assistant Executive Director of Government Partnerships and e-Learning, will highlight the National Science Teachers Association's programs in a special guest luncheon presentation.

The National Coalition for Aviation Education represents many of associations, industry groups, agencies, and others collaborating to promote aerospace careers and educational programs.
