Starduster Designs, Plans, Materials at Aircraft Spruce

Popular Stolp Designs Have a New Home

Aircraft Spruce & Specialty has acquired the design rights to the popular Stolp Starduster line of homebuilt aircraft and will sell plans and complete materials packages for all Starduster models.  Builders will be able to purchase materials in one or several allotments during the construction phases.  Many pre-fabricated components, such as fiberglass turtlebacks, nose cowls, wheel pants, cockpit cowlings, complete fuel systems, windshields, canopies and "plug-in" instrument panels will also be available.

Designed in the 1960s by legendary aircraft designer Lou Stolp, the line includes the Starduster Too (pictured), AcroDuster Too, Starlet, V-Star, Super Starduster, and Starduster One. Over a thousand sets of plans have been sold and it is estimated that over 300 copies of the Starduster models have already reached the flightline.

Located for years at Flabob Airport in Riverside (CA), Starduster Aircraft has been in Oroville (CA) from 1998 until purchased by Aircraft Spruce.

Aircraft Spruce president Jim Irwin said: "Lou Stolp and Bill Clause were friends of Flow Irwin, the founder of Aircraft Spruce, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to continue to support the Starduster line with sales of plans and materials kits. It really has been a significant series of aircraft models and we¹re going to support Starduster builders with the parts they need to complete their projects."
