GAMA Applauds Euro AAM Report

'Electric Aviation – a Solution for Short and Mid-Ranged Flights' Makes Waves Abroad

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association praised the passage of a European Union report highlighting the "key policy and legislative measures needed to accelerate the development of electric aviation in Europe".

The report, "Electric Aviation – a Solution for Short and Mid-Ranged Flights", aims to call the shots for where aviation transport will be decades in the future, and what it will take for regulators to ensure it continues to be a form of reliable mass transportation. While GAMA is largely focused on the North American market, they know advancement in their niche when they see it - and 'sustainable' Advanced Air Mobility tech is probably the best shot the industry has at cultivating a renaissance of General Aviation as a whole.

“We fully support the policy recommendations made in the report which should serve as an important reference for the incoming European Commission. The report strongly emphasizes the need for more targeted public funding by European Union Agencies and initiatives to help fund innovation and bring electric aviation products to market and develop the appropriate ground infrastructure to support this emerging sector. The potential for these products to help green pilot training, and urban and regional air mobility is clearly recognised in the report,” said Kyle Martin, Vice President, European Affairs, GAMA.
