CAE, Global Crossing Airlines Embark on A320 Training

GlobalX Looks to Expand A321 Freighter Options

CAE signed a deal with Global Crossing Airlines - or GlobalX, as is commonly shortened - to deploy and operate an Airbus A320 family full-flight simulator in their Miami, Florida facility.

The new sim is scheduled to be ready for training this quarter and will help to bolster Global Crossing's efforts to expand its A321 freighter fleet. The FFS is scheduled to be ready for training in the first quarter of 2024 to support GlobalX’s ongoing growth and the expansion of its Airbus A321 freighter fleet. The carrier operates as a passenger and charter line, only recently adding the freight capability to its fleet in 2023.

“We are delighted to be signing this agreement with CAE to provide GlobalX with a dedicated Level D full-flight simulator,” said John Coomes, GlobalX’s Vice President and Director of Operations. “We expect to see our relationship with CAE continue to grow as we focus on having the very highest levels of safety in our operations. We greatly appreciate CAE’s confidence in our team and our company by providing us with this FFS.”

“We are happy to welcome GlobalX as a new CAE customer, and with this long-term agreement, we look forward to supporting the airline’s growth with this A320 FFS,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, CAE’s Division President, Commercial Aviation Training. “CAE’s objective is to be close to its customers and provide an immersive training experience that gives pilots the knowledge and confidence to be at their best every time they fly.”
