Cassandra Bosco Named UAA Interim Executive Director

Will Fill The Role While University Aviation Association Conducts Executive Search

Ms. Cassandra Bosco has been named Interim Executive Director of the University Aviation Association (UAA). She takes up the responsibilities of retiring Executive Director Carolyn Williamson, CAE. Bosco was appointed to the position while the association begins the strategic planning and search process for its next Executive Director.

Since 2004, Cassandra Bosco has served as president of TailWinds Communications, offering public relations, event planning, and educational development programs specializing in the general aviation and corporate aviation industry.

Prior to forming TailWinds, she was Director, Public Relations, at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) since January 1988, responsible for the association’s media relations and education. As aviation education specialist, Bosco helped to implement the Association’s Professional Development Program (PDP) and created NBAA’s highly successful AvKids program for elementary school students. She began her aviation career in 1983 as Communications Assistant at the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).

Bosco was a member of the University Aviation Association (UAA) in 1985, serving two terms on the Board of Trustees and as secretary in 1986. She also served as a founding board member for Women in Aviation International and in 2013 was inducted into the Women in Aviation Pioneer Hall of Fame.

In addition, Bosco is a member of the International Aviation Women’s Association, Women in Corporate Aviation and was a founding member of both the National Coalition on Aviation Education and the Aviation Communications Coalition.

Bosco was presented with the Business and Commercial Aviation Vision Award in recognition for contributions to the “safety, effectiveness and growth of business aviation.” She has also been a recipient of the W. W. Estridge Award from American Airlines for dedicated service to aviation education.
