Aero-TV At Oshkosh 2009: Looking Back At Day Three

Welcome to Aero-TV’s Daily Update from EAA’s AirVenture Oshkosh for Wednesday, July 29th, 2009.

An exciting new venture was announced Wednesday when Tom Poberezny, president of EAA, and Craig Fuller, president of AOPA held a special press conference at AeroShell Square.

AirVenture not only hopes to reach out to existing pilots, but also encourage its youngest visitors to pursue a future in aviation; Aero-TV had an opportunity to sit down with one such exhibitor at AirVenture, The Grimes Flying Lab Foundation, about their mission at Oshkosh.

This year at AirVenture 2009, the Warbirds of America are celebrating the very special 60th anniversary of the North American T-28. Aero-TV sat down with Lt. Colonel Jerry “Jive” Kerby as he explained why sharing the performance with AirVenture crowds remained exciting.

Continuing that honor and respect, the legendary Heritage Flight shared generations of military aircraft with visitors. Aero-TV talked to Captain Dale “Snort” Snodgrass about the importance of Heritage Flight.

Join us tomorrow for some exciting profiles in aviation from the Tuskegee Airmen to famed air show performer Matt Younkin.
