Hartzell Propeller Hosts International Prop Shop Seminar

What Happens in Piqua …

Hartzell hosted its biennial International Prop Shop Seminar from 11 through 14 June 2023.

Held for purpose of promoting propeller safety, presenting the latest technical information and clarifying standards and practices germane to Hartzell props, providing ideas to improve and streamline operations, fostering better understanding of Hartzell’s advanced technology and innovation, and facilitating information exchange with customers, the event brought together nearly one-hundred propeller maintenance professionals from a dozen nations. Participants included maintenance professionals, fleet operators, and representatives of propeller shops, aircraft manufacturers, airworthiness agencies, and aviation schools.

Hartzell Propeller president J.J. Frigge stated: "The seminar proved to be a highly-engaging and informative event for our attendees and for the company. We were delighted to welcome so many propeller experts from around the world to our headquarters in Piqua, Ohio, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations until our next Prop Shop Seminar in 2025.”

Presenters at Hartzell Propeller’s International Prop Shop Seminar included the aforementioned Mr. Frigge, as well as Hartzell vice-president of quality Burt Mattice, Hartzell director of business development & new technology Mitch Heaton, Hartzell director of aftermarket sales Alex Krauskopf, and Hartzell manager of product support & technical publications John Popel.

In November 2022, Hartzell was reorganized under the auspices of Tailwind Technologies Inc. The emergent entity, Hartzell Aviation, comprises Hartzell Propeller, Hartzell Aerospace Welding, and Hartzell Engine Tech.

United under the Hartzell Aviation banner, the trio of aerospace concerns stands ready to ply its considerable expertise and experience to the advancement of the General Aviation industry.
