Trent XWB Engines Selected By International Airlines Group

Will Provide Power For Eight A350-900 Aircraft

Rolls-Royce has been selected by International Airlines Group to provide Trent XWB engines for eight Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The aircraft will be operated by Iberia and are in addition to eight Trent XWB-powered A350-900s ordered by IAG for Iberia in August last year.

“We welcome IAG’s decision to select further aircraft powered by our Trent XWB engines," said Dominic Horwood, Rolls-Royce, Chief Customer Officer – Civil Large Engines. "We look forward to delivering outstanding engine performance to a valued customer.”

Iberia already operates 17 Trent 500 powered A340-600 aircraft and today’s announcement takes their fleet of Trent powered aircraft delivered and on order to 33.
