Universal Avionics Introduces FlexPerf Module

Designed to Provide Advanced Fuel Savings Available In FMS Software

A module for Universal’s WAAS/SBAS-Flight Management System (FMS) and Multi-Mission Management System (MMMS), FlexPerf will be available with the next major software release, Software Control Number (SCN) 1001/1101.

Expected to become available second quarter 2013, Universal Avionics’ new FlexPerf Trip Performance will provide advanced fuel savings predictions for aircraft performance in Climb, Cruise and Descent phases of flight.

FlexPerf features a “flexible” intelligent design that continuously records actual aircraft fuel burn during every phase of flight. Using this data, FlexPerf applies refinements to the baseline aircraft performance data stored in the FMS/MMMS. Even the smallest aircraft changes that could affect performance, like new paint and engine health, are sensed and combined into the FlexPerf algorithm. The resulting calculations provide aircraft performance predictions to build a performance profile computed with total accuracy. To assist with crew planning, the aircraft trajectory is provided with ETA and fuel remaining for the entire flight.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view and operate Universal Avionics’ FlexPerf Trip Performance module at the 56th Annual AEA International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, through Thursday.
