What Could Keep Phil Boyer on the Ground?

Nothing Short of Imminent War

Two long-awaited AOPA Pilot Town Meetings in Anchorage and Fairbanks (AK) scheduled for next week, have been canceled.  The first meeting was slated for Monday, March 24 at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown, and the second meeting was to be held at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel on Tuesday, March 25th.

"With the country on the brink of war, there will undoubtedly be impacts on general aviation operations," said Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association President Phil Boyer. "It's with much regret that I have to cancel these Pilot Town Meetings in Alaska. However, I need to be in Washington to help the AOPA team defend general aviation's interests before the regulators and Congress."

Boyer urged Alaska pilots to check notams (notices to airmen) prior to every flight to be alerted to changes in the national airspace system.

He pledged to reschedule his Alaska trip later in the year.
