TL-Ultralight Develops Aircraft For Those With Disabilities

TL-3000 Sirius Has Been Modified For Use By Paraplegics

An aircraft specifically modified to accommodate those who have lost the use of their lower extremities has been developed by TL-Ultralight. With a few changes, the company, based in the Czech Republic, says its TL 3000 Sirius can accommodate pilots confined to a wheelchair or have other lower-limb disabilities.

TL-Ultralight says the first customer for the modified airplane, who is based in Hungary, has just taken delivery of his new aircraft. They say the TL 3000 Sirius works for people with disabilities because of its wide entry door, the aft position of the wing strut which allows unobstructed wheelchair entry. The yoke steering gives great leg and entry clearance, and the cabin is large enough to make it very easy to get in and out of the aircraft.

The special modifications added to the aircraft are supplied at nominal charge, and the company says those modifications do not limit the aircraft from use by conventional pilots as the additional controls can be removed in just a few minutes.
