Ousted Korean Air Executive Placed Under Arrest

No Charges Have Been Filed Against Cho Hyun-ah In The 'Nut Rage' Incident

A former Korean Air executive ... whose father also happens to control the airline's parent company ... has been placed under arrest in connection with the "nut rage" incident December 5. Cho Hyun-ah, who is also known as Heather Cho, had berated a senior airline flight attendant for serving her macadamia nuts in a bag rather than on a plate, forced him to kneel and apologize on the plane, and having the plane taxi back to the gate in New York so that the flight attendant could be removed from the aircraft.

Cho resigned from her position at the airline after the incident, and her father publicly apologized for her behavior. But Cho's problems have not ended there. Fox News reports that even though no charges have been filed against Cho, she can be arrested and held for up to six months because she might leave the country while the investigation is pending.

Tuesday, Cho was arrested and placed in a detention facility after a court approved the warrant for her arrest. Another Korean Air executive was also arrested because it is believed he pressured other airline employees to sweep the incident under the rug.

Shortly after the incident, Cho resigned from her position as an executive of Korean Air and all of the carrier's affiliates.
