CAE Signs More Than $111 Million In Civil Aviation Contracts

In The Civil Aviation Business, CAE Is Providing Full Flight Simulators And Training Services To Air Carriers

CAE has announced a series of training solutions contracts valued at a total of more than $111 million at list prices. They include long-term training services contracts with low-cost airline Viva Colombia which will be training at a new CAE training center in Colombia, a training contract expansion with Mesa Airlines, as well as five full-flight simulators (FFSs).

"The civil aviation market remains strong, and we are honored that airlines and aircraft operators globally continue to choose CAE as their training partner of choice," said Nick Leontidis, CAE's Group President, Civil Simulation and Training. "In addition to offering the most innovative products, we are proud to offer our customers the largest training network, as well as tailored, value-added training solutions designed to meet their needs for safety and efficiency."

The latest FFS sales include:

  • One Airbus A350 FFS to China Airlines.
  • Two Boeing 737-800 FFSs to Southwest Airlines.
  • One FFS and training devices for a regional jet sold to an undisclosed customer in Asia.
  • One Boeing 737-900ER FFS to an undisclosed airline in North America.

CAE has signed a long-term training service agreement with low-cost carrier Viva Colombia for the training of its A320 pilots. To support the training agreement, CAE will be expanding its network with the addition of a training center in Bogota, Colombia. CAE will install an A320 CAE 7000 Series full-flight simulator in November 2015.

They have also signed a new 10-year training services agreement with Mesa Airlines, extending a relationship that has been in place since 2002.
