Diamond Aircraft says it has delivered 28 aircraft to various countries within the first weeks of the year, including 14 special mission aircraft for environment and border surveillance. Diamond says it hopes to deliver another 40 of the multi purpose platform aircraft worldwide this year.

Diamond Guardian

Diamonds multi purpose platform, DA42 MPP Guardian, is an aircraft equipped with high-performance cameras that can be used for environmental monitoring or border control. The aircraft's high-resolution camera is able to identify a single person from a distance of just under two miles.

Additionally, flight schools from Ehtiopia (Ehtiopian Airlines), Saudi Arabia (Saudi Aviation Flight Academy) und Russia (Rosavia) have received new training aircraft DA42 NG and DA40 NG - as well as the president from Tatarstan, an autonomous Russian republic.

The engine was recently certified for 100 % maximum continuous power by the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency, and Diamond is now producing airplanes exclusively with Austro Engine piston engines. The additional reserve allows now the Diamond DA42 to climb above 14000 feet on only one engine.
