From April 1st 2007: Has AOPA Finally Over-Done It?

"As the world's largest aviaion organization, we thought it only fitting that we give away the world's largest airplane to a lucky AOPA member... and it might even finally earn us some respect from the airline industry, to boot!"

AOPA President Phil Boyer added that this amazing sweepstakes does come with a few caveats, due to the immense investment represented in this program.

"This giveaway is the biggest we've ever undertaken, thus far, so we need to maximize the investment by requiring that the Super-Jumbo be loaned back to us for a week every year to be used for the Annual AOPA Expo... actually to be used to HOST the annual AOPA Expo. Rather than go through all the trouble of hiring exhibit halls and other big facilities once a year in different parts of the country, we're just gonna host the whole darned thing inside and move it from coast to coast! Can you imagine how classy that's gonna be? Jim May is gonna blow a gasket over the fact that we thought of it first.
