License-Built Messerschmitt Me-109 Airplanes For Sale

Aircraft Manufactured In Spain After WWII

It's like American Pickers on steroids. Found in a barn in Texas were five airplanes that look amazingly like Messerschmitt Me-109Gs ... complete with swastikas and Luftwaffe markings.

That's because they essentially are the iconic German airplanes … built in Spain under license as Hispano Buchon HA-1112-M1L aircraft.

Listed as a "Barn Find", Platinum Fighter Sales says that there are four original, unrestored damaged airframes that were last flown in 1968 in the movie "Battle of Britain". One of the airplanes is registered in the U.S. (N4109G) and was last flown in 1973. They have 1,600 horsepower Rolls Royce Merlin 500/45 engines and Dowty Rotol 4 blade props. Platinum says that will all come with "a substantial spares package."

The company's website says that after the movie was completed, the airplanes were disassembled and shipped to Texas, where they have gathered dust in the barn for 45 years.

Now, they're offered for sale with prices ranging from $800,000 to $1.1 million.
