Poland Moves Forward On Apache Purchase

LOA For 96 AH-64Es Supports Polish KRUK Program

Boeing announced that Poland has signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for 96 of its AH-64E Apache combat helicopters.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence announced an offset agreement with Boeing last week. That agreement is for maintenance and support of the helicopters by the Polish defense industry as well as establishing training programs and a composite laboratory. The offsets are intended to create highly skilled jobs and enhance the capabilities of the Polish defense industry which would lead to economic benefits for the entire country.

The AH-64 Apaches have been built in Mesa, Arizona, for over 40 years and the AH-64E is the most current configuration of the helo.

The Polish government chose the AH-64E for the Polish Armed Forces new KRUK Attack Helicopter fleet several years ago and has been working on the offset agreements with other companies to facilitate the Boeing deal.

This purchase will make Poland the largest operator of Apaches outside the U.S., and the 19th nation to acquire the helicopter.

Vince Logsdon, Vice President, International Business Development for Boeing Defense, Space & Security said, “We are honored the Government of Poland has placed their confidence in us. The AH-64E Apache helicopters will strengthen Poland’s operational capability and interoperability with the U.S., NATO and allied nations.

We look forward to delivering this unmatched capability.”
