Second FlightSafety Citation Latitude Sim Receives FAA Level D Qualification

To Be Located At Columbus, OH Learning Center

FlightSafety International announces that its second simulator for the Cessna Citation Latitude aircraft has been qualified to Level D by the United States Federal Aviation Administration. The new FlightSafety FS1000 simulator is located at FlightSafety’s Learning Center in Columbus, Ohio.

The first simulator for the aircraft entered service in Wichita last year.

“The Level D qualification of FlightSafety’s second Citation Latitude simulator demonstrates our long-term commitment to provide our Customers with the training programs they require and to deliver industry-leading service and support,” said David Davenport, Executive Vice President.

The expanded aerodynamic model developed by FlightSafety and incorporated into the Citation Latitude simulator for use in advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training was also evaluated and qualified by the FAA. “This is the first time that a new simulator and an expanded aerodynamic model of this type have been evaluated and qualified simultaneously,” said John Van Maren, Vice President, Simulation.

The Citation Latitude simulator is equipped with FlightSafety’s VITAL 1100 visual system and new Instructor Operating Station. The IOS is designed to provide instructors with a highly productive and efficient work space. It features an intuitive interface, scalable graphics, and large multi touch displays.
