AeroSports Update: D-Motor Introduces New ASTM Compliant Engine

New D-Motor Engine Qualifies For Special Light Sport Aircraft As Well As Home-Built Experimental Aircraft

D-Motor USA has announced the successful completion of the D-Motor LF-26 ASTM engine certification process. The LF-26 is a four cylinder, horizontally opposed, four stroke engine that has met or exceeded the ASTM international consensus standard requirements for engine certification.

The D-Motor company began production of the D-motor in 2010. The D-motor is a 4 stroke side valve (flat head) boxer engine that uses the latest technology including multipoint fuel injection, electronic ignition, and liquid cooling. It provides a maximum continuous power of 88.8 H.P.

The D-Motor USA LF-26 has now met or exceeded all the ASTM requirements for full SLSA, ELSA, or experimental certification as per FAA approved Consensus Standard F-37 F-2538-70a Design and Manufacture of Reciprocating Compression Ignition Engines.

The tested engine was equipped with dual ECU Electronic Ignition Systems, direct port fuel injection, direct drive, and water-cooled cylinders and heads. It is certified with a 3000 RPM red line limitation, and has a recommended TBO of 2000 hours.

D-Motor USA is now offering this new engine to all ASTM F-37 OEM manufacturers, as well as experimental aircraft builders.
