Korean Drone Delivery Company Signs to Joint Project

Unmanned Delivery System to Be Established in New York

South Korean drone services provider Pablo Air has signed an MOU with the Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (the conveniently acronymed NUAIR) to develop a framework for compliance in drone operations in the United States. Their aim is to complete a long-distance drone delivery network in New York later this year, and the agreement should serve as the base for Pablo's NY foothold.

Pablo Air also joins the NUAIR's international alliance of the unmanned aerial system, an international AAM project to help provide worldwide frameworks to drone ops. The collaboration with NUAIR will help Pablo acquire the necessary permission for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights within 50 miles of New York State. In addition, NUAIR will assist  Pablo with developmental assistance in their drone R&D, system integration, and business expansion in the United States. NUAIR stressed the benefits of the partnership, saying that Pablo's systems provide streamlined UAS equipment for a variety of use cases inherent to the drone industry.

“Pablo Air has successfully conducted maritime drone flights at Incheon International Airport, South Korea which integrated both Unmanned Traffic Management and Air Traffic Management Systems, a key component in keeping the airways safe,” said NUAIR exec Ken Stewart. “This cross-country collaboration to safely integrate unmanned aircraft into the national airspace will help unlock the true potential of commercial drone operations.”

"This memorandum of understanding, held at NUAIR headquarters in Syracuse, New York, is the first local collaboration since last year when we secured exclusive rights with EVA to conduct Proof of Concept drone deliveries in New York, discussing various collaboration measures necessary to expand business and R&D in the United States. We hope to introduce PABLO AIR's drone ground control system and drone delivery platform in the U.S. as soon as possible for the first time as a Korean company," said Pablo Air CEO Kim Young-Joon.
